Absolutely! A number of our favorite solo Flowgis are planning to come without a partner, friend or family member. During our visit this year, there were several solo travelers grouping up for hikes and excursions. The yoga sessions, circles, meals, and social spaces are always lively, and there's plenty of opportunity to connect with others. The group suite is a great option for single travelers, and we'll host a happy hour at the studio for everyone to get to know each other before we leave.

No, we will place guests once we have a full understanding of who is coming to make the most of the available space and accommodate needs.

We can't predict future airfare, but our flights from Cleveland to San Jose and the puddle-jumpers to Cobano cost most of the retreaters 800-$1400 total/person. We will keep an eye out for flights and work together to coordinate booking to get ahead of rate fluctuations resulting for 30 travelers booking in a short period of time. We expect international flight airfares between $800-$1000/person, and puddle-jumper flights between $150-250.

We are using the deposits to secure the property, so unfortunately the deposit is non-refundable. However, if we are able to secure a replacement for your spot we will refund your deposit. Remaining balances will be paid in full the first week of March 2025. If you must cancel after paying the balance, we will do our best to secure a replacement from the waitlist and refund your payment.

A group favorite was the day-trip to Santa Teresa. We had surfers, horseback riders, and zip-liners this past year, and got good feedback for all three. The waterfall hike is also a fan-favorite — it’s challenging, rewarding (and free). We also offered cooking classes for Costa Rican dishes with Anamaya’s chef, and salsa lessons on the lower deck. Both were great. This year we also added a tour of a local chocolate-maker where we sampled a variety of organic chocolates and created our own bars of chocolate. This upcoming trip we will be giving retreaters an opportunity to watch hatchling baby sea turtles released to the sea and an exploration of Montezuma followed by a beach swim at Playa Grande. And we are still researching a couple more new options for 2026!

Our favorite was the 4-handed Lomi Lomi, a tradition Hawaiian massage given by two massage therapists. Absolutely incredible. We also experienced the foot reflexology, cupping, and tarot readings. All were exceptional, and affordable.

Oh yes. The retreat we attended had several partners that did not participate in yoga. We plan to offer all-levels and more challenging class tracks each day if there's demand, as well as workshops and restorative/yin sessions that all skill levels will enjoy. There is also a variety of games, an infinity pool, sauna and cold plunge, a beautiful hiking trail down to a river featuring three waterfalls and wading pools, and charming town with restaurants, bars, and craftspeople, and a number of excursions, from surfing to wildlife preserve tours to snorkeling and zip-lining.

Yes, our private chef prepares fish freshly caught in the waters off Montezuma, and organic chicken and eggs raised locally and on Anamaya's sister farm. Vegetarian and vegan options are always available.

I know, I know. This may sound like a bummer to cheese-lovers and bread-heads, but we gotta tell you, we didn't miss a thing. (And they DID have creamer for coffee and yogurt/granola in the fridge for snacks). Can't say this loud enough -- the meals were soooo good. Fresh, nutritious, delicious, and customizable (lots of alterations around us for vegetarian and vegan requests, and they brought out double protein for all of Kevin's meals). In addition to the breakfast, lunch and dinner, there is fresh fruit available all day, awesome snacks like protein balls, naturally-sweetened freshly baked cookies, popcorn, and sophisticated desserts with every dinner. Really, friends, it was amazing, and we take our food very seriously.

While Anamaya is a health and detox facility, we rented out the entire resort. Alcohol is not served but it is available for sale and is allowed at meals, in social areas, and in your room. The gift shop has a cooler with a selection of Costa Rican wines and domestic beers, and a craft brewpub offering cold six packs is a five minute walk from the resort.

Anamaya has filtered and purified water available in public areas. We do not recommend you drink the water from the faucet or use it for brushing. Bring a reusable water bottle to fill and use in your room.

Costa Rica uses the same outlets as the US, and every room has AC and electric outlets for charging your tech. There are no TVs in the rooms or public spaces. There is wifi throughout the resort that was powerful enough for us to stream movies in our room from a laptop.

Mats, blocks, and towels are all available at the resort.
